With an accumulated 70 years of coaching experience, The LMT Team
offers the highest level of training in the local tennis arena. With varied
backgrounds and discipline, this team has one main thing in
common….the passion to coach and make the world of tennis a
rewarding one for all.
As a team, they coach all age groups and levels. However, an important
goal of the LMT Team is to help young athletes and develop their talents
to reach their full potential. Not only are the participants learning to
play tennis, but they acquire other developmental and life changing skills.
Llockett McGregor
U.S.P.T.R Certified Pro
A graduate of The Van Deer Meer Tennis University and a certified registered member of the United States Professional Tennis Registry (USPTR), Llockett McGregor has been working in the field of Tennis for over 30 years.
He has worked with both juniors and seniors in various capacities including Director of Tennis Jamaica and Tournament Organizer/Programme Coordinator of the Liguanea Club Tennis Programmes, where he is currently the resident Tennis Coach for over 20 years.
Over the years, Llockett has used his influence, experience and skills to develop programmes geared at sharpening players’ skills as national representatives and has represented Jamaica as manager and coach for both the National Junior and Senior Tennis Teams at the Junior Brandon, ITF Eastern Caribbean Circuit Division, Davis Cup and Fed Cup.
Since 2008, Llockett McGregor has held the position of Tennis Coach for the UTECH Tennis Programme, which placed first in the 2010, 2012 & 2013 Inter-Collegiate games. He also currently coaches the St. Andrew School for Girls’ Tennis Team.
Coach Llockett McGregor has brought an unparalleled level of professionalism, discipline and passion to the game of tennis which is emulated and demonstrated by the entire LockMc Tennis Coaching
Peter “Packa” Berry
Peter “Packa” Berry with 40 years tennis experience, started playing tennis at a tender age of 13 years. His first opportunity came in 1975 when he became a Ball Boy at Jamaica Hilton in Mamee Bay, St. Ann.
In 1979, Peter received a tTennis Scholarship to attend the Dinthill Technical High School where he participated in the National High School Tournament. He later went on to play professional tournaments with the Ja. Team.
While living and working in St. Ann, Peter along with a coworker saw the need to assist the youth in the community and started a youth programme, offering tennis lessons and counseling. This was a success and some of the participants were elevated to the National Program.
In 2003, Peter joined the Jamaica Pegasus Team as a Tennis Coach until 2014 when he joined the LockMc Tennis Team.
Randolph “Randy” Barriffe
Randy started playing tennis at the age of twelve (12) at Kingston Wyndham Hotel (formerly Sheraton), where he met Llockett McGregor.
His career started at the Ball
Boy level and further developed into his training and participation in various Junior Tennis Tournaments.
After a 7 year break from the sport, Randy joined the LMT Team at the Liguanea Club where he has been coaching for over 16 years.
He has received training at both the local and ITF Levels and is a beneficiary of the tutelage and mentorship of Llockett McGregor.
Randy loves to work with the youth and adults beginners. His coaching skills, passion for the sport and his contagious personality makes him a valuable member of the team and an asset to his clients.
Ashford “Ashy” Knight
Ashford has 40 years experience in tennis and is PTR Certified.
A love of tennis and the desire to continue to be active in the sport, brought Ashford to coaching. He has coached tennis in the hotel industry for 15 years.
He Coached the Dinthill Technical Tennis Team from 1979-1981 and the Alcan Tennis Team from 1984 to 1993.
When asked why tennis, Ashford said “I tried a lot of sports and tennis was the most soothing”, he chimed “I live for peace of mind and to serve others”.
Duinne “Jeremy” Miller
Duinne has been playing tennis for 20 years. He was introduced to him at a young age and after a number of years, he fell in love with the game.
He has completed the Play & Stay course as well as ITF Level 1 certification.
Duinne worked with the Guyana Tennis Association (GTA) for three years the ITF as Assistant Junior Coordinator in Guyana.
Duinne lives for tennis. He plays and coaches 7 days per week.
